bld architecture was selected by suffolk county community college for the interior renovations to the visual arts program located in the sagtikos building on their grant campus in brentwood. the original building was constructed in 1987 and totals approximately 110,000 gsf and contains a theatre, classrooms, laboratories, art studios, music studio and offices. approximately 32,000 square feet of the building was renovated and reconfigured.
bld provided the initial programming and blocking studies that developed into full design and construction documents for the renovations of the newly created lobby, science and visual arts programs. bld also selected and managed the full compliment of consulting engineers which included mep&fp, structural, acoustic, av/it, furniture and cost consulting. the project was fully permitted through the county and the college and constructed successfully through its close out and occupancy.
